The entire driver interface is user-friendly, it is not difficult to get started, and it has all the necessary for a gaming headset. Besides the Khan Aimo headset’s image and its specs and features displayed on the box, the inside is lackluster. Roccat didn’t include any extra accessories in the box other than the headset itself with a 2.2 m black braided USB data cable and an information card. The USB connector is also branded with the Roccat Khan leopard head logo.

The underside of the headband features a premium leatherette design with a lightweight cushion on the surface to ensure a secure fit and maximum comfort for long gaming sessions. Both the ear cups and headband are upholstered with the same synthetic leather and padded with memory foam. The headband’s surface is made of plastic, while on the interior is a steel bar and stainless steel slider structure that allows for 11 steps of adjustment.
The internal connections and details are also made of premium components, ensuring durability and longevity while making it a lightweight 275 grams. The padded ear cups and headband are quite comfortable, and the headband’s inner slope allows the Roccat Khan Aimo gaming headset to rest on your head effortlessly, so there’s no pressure on neither head nor ears at all.

Since it comes with a hardware sound card, the user can adjust several settings: adjust the AIMO Lighting Illumination RGB system, set up the virtual 7.1 surround sound channels, microphone passive noise cancelation, and microphone sensitivity, boost audio clarity and voice clarity. Also, the driver’s interface allows the user to personalize your Equalizer settings for various games.
The downside of having a proprietary sound card is that you’re unable to use it with other devices since the Roccat Khan Aimo 7.1 gaming headsets connect to the PC via a USB connector; thus, you’ll have to buy additional adapters.

Roccat Khan Aimo’s playback of vocals is incredibly good, the upper end of the audio spectrum is clear and defined, trebles are gracious, whereas the lows are somewhat more dominant than the gentle mid-range. The bass is powerful, but not muddy and neither too incisive. When you watch a show, the 7.1 surround system impresses with a vivid performance, speeches and dialogues are clear, plus you can pick up most details.
In a FPS game, the positioning of your enemies could easily be sensed. And if you play music with the 7.1 virtual surround sound mode on, you’ll enjoy a slightly larger, louder, soundstage in which vocals are closer, and music playback becomes more life-like as on a concert stage.
The overall sound effect after switching to 7.1 surround sound mode is obviously improved. Even the slightest sound of steps can be heard clearly. Note also that the volume is also amplified a lot. You’ll need to adjust the volume level; otherwise, high-pitched sounds will be a bit ear-piercing.
