More than two years ago, Sennheiser launched the GSP 600, a high-end closed-back gaming headset. It is a very imposing model that aims to provide the best gaming experience, featuring a built-in retractable microphone and an appealing look.
Therefore, the Sennheiser GSP 600 is a standard headset with prominent earcups in black and red, a broad headband, and a lift-up microphone. A sophisticated product that does not look inconspicuous, yet still exudes high-quality workmanship, featuring good quality plastic, and zero creaking noises.
Apart from having an open and closed design, the headsets don’t differ from one another, they are supposed to have the same sound quality.

Cons
- Quite heavy – uncomfortable after long wearing
The Sennheiser GSP 600 gaming headset continues to be a safe and reliable investment for those looking for great sound quality. Very comfortable and stylish, it provides great pleasure for your ears. However, a few caveats about the microphone are a little too sensitive and will let your interlocutor hear just about every sound around you. Its enclosed design means that the Sennheiser GSP 600 can also handle very loud environments, such as local gaming events, which is not possible with the GSP 500 with an open design. The assembly is robust, and the workmanship is very careful. Although it is not a lightweight headset (the GSP 600 still weighs 0.87 pounds) but remains flexible and easy to handle.

The Sennheiser GSP 600 package is plain enough, without extra accessories, but it clearly indicates what is inside – the closed-back gaming headset of the company. The inside of the package is intended to secure the headset, and therefore it comes in a dense block. All accessories are included inside a little box. It is understandable from its size that the set is quite modest: 2 removable cables including instructions for headphones and a warranty card;. Apparently, this model is a strictly home-oriented gaming headset, so the brand did not plan to make it useable outside the house.
The first wire connects to a PC, whereas the second cord is for different gaming platforms. The two cables are equipped with a proprietary connector for connecting to the headphones themselves; therefore, it is not wise to lose them.

Engaging in lengthy games demands quality equipment as well as a comfortable user experience. The development team invested a lot of work for this reason. Numerous aspects were accounted for, thus making sure that they wouldn’t be distracting or causing discomfort. Whenever a player has to concentrate on a match, we recommend trying the Sennheiser GSP 600 gaming headset.
First of all, it should be noted that the ear cups are made of a suede type of material, a polymer which has excellent durability characteristics. This also brings many advantages:
- Your ears remain cool and at normal temperatures
- There is no sticky effect on your skin
As a result, no discomfort is created, not even during prolonged use of headphones. Sweating will no longer be a concern. Thoughtful ergonomic design allows you to enjoy the full benefits of a headset without worrying about any problems. The ear cups are soft and easy to wear, providing a pleasant sensation of comfort.
The GSP 600 proudly displays its construction details, such as the joints between the headband and the earpieces, the various protective plates, the screws, etc. However, this is a cosmetic choice on the part of the producer and does not impair the solidity of the unit. All components, whether plastic, aluminum, or fabric, are of the highest quality.
The assembly is robust, and the workmanship is very careful. Although it is not a lightweight headset ( the GSP 600 still weighs 0.87 pounds) but remains flexible and easy to handle. The headband cushion and the internal surface of the ear cushions are covered with a fabric-like sport mesh. For a softer touch, the brand has chosen an Alcantara style fabric covering on the surface in contact with the head.
The GSP 600 guarantees a good user experience as soon as it is put on the head. It is easy to fit, the weight and pressure points are evenly spread, both in the hoop and in the earpieces. The fabric upholstery is pleasant to touch, the ear pads are large enough to encompass the ears and provide plenty of room for them. The comfortable tension adjustment on the headband is also appreciated, as it is very useful to achieve the best possible fit of the helmet. In the majority of situations, one can play for several hours without any problem.

Right from the start, it is noticeable that the headset once again distinguishes itself markedly from the gaming headsets of the entry-level class, even and from those in the same price category. The manufacturer is literally at home in the audio field, and you can practically notice that. The GSP 600 makes this apparent through its vibrant sound, which doesn’t lack any essential gaming qualities. Owing to the closed design, these headsets can produce a powerful, precise low-frequency response in the lower regions, providing sufficient air for the mid-range to play. The high frequencies also remain transparent, which results in a very harmonious sound. The qualities specified extend across a wide range of applications. Users benefit from a very detailed reproduction during gaming, meaning that ambient noises are not only realistically implemented, but enemies, in particular, can be detected quickly.
Its enclosed design means that the Sennheiser GSP 600 can also handle very loud environments, such as local gaming events, which is not possible with the GSP 500 with an open design. Above all, however, this closed-back gaming headset is a winner in terms of audio quality. Unlike competing gaming headsets, its sound doesn’t have too much bass; on the contrary, the tone ranges are perfectly harmonized.
In first-person shooters, enemy steps can be mapped very precisely, even though the open GSP 500 has an even more refined character. Explosions and shootings appear really authentic, too. The treble and mid-range are well defined in these headphones, so the sound is dynamic and rich in detail at virtually all times – making this headset perfect for enjoying music.

The Sennheiser GSP600 continues to be a safe and reliable investment for those looking for great sound quality. Very comfortable and stylish, it provides great pleasure for your ears. However, a few caveats about the microphone are a little too sensitive and will let your interlocutor hear just about every sound around you. The Sennheiser gaming headphones are a quality product for 250€, but unfortunately, the microphone can be perfected, darkening the picture somewhat.
The audio scene reflects the entire virtual space. It has a well-defined separation of the audio channels provides a clear picture of where an action is unfolding. The GSP 600 pin-pointing capability might not be as exact as that of the GSP 500 due to the more intense sound; it nonetheless performs excellently.
The German company offers devices of higher quality. Apparently, the microphone performs just as well as that of GSP 500. The microphone is not suitable for recording vocals or other needs; however, for dynamic games, the microphone is optimally suited.
