Design & Ergonomy
Sony emphasizes the robustness and lightness of its headphones. However, we noticed that the material that covers the entire headphone is plastic. The surface is beautifully polished, and we believe that, after all, the plastic is beneficial as it makes the headphones lighter and comfortable. Even though many users who think the material is less luxurious do not appreciate it, we can safely say that the WH-L600 is more reliable in terms of performance. If you want to have an excellent time, you need to focus on performance, not design.
The design is carefully designed and refined. Despite their weight of 320 grams, these headsets are especially suitable for small heads and are very pleasant on your head. Additionally, you’ll also notice that the earcups rest gently on your ears, which are quite enjoyable. After a few hours of use, you will undoubtedly still enjoy the comfort. However, this opinion may differ from that of other users. It is always subjective.
The headphones have multiple audio inputs, which is ideal for efficient use. The different audio inputs also allow you to connect to various devices such as Blu-ray players, TVs, and game consoles. Connections are made using stereo cables, digital optics, and 3.5 mm HDMI.
The sport mode will be ideal for those who want to be “surrounded” by the players on the field while watching a soccer match. The in-game effects are also enhanced to immerse you in the video game. If you don’t pay attention to/don’t care too much about these details, the neutral mode should be ideal for you.
Three different switches on the left of the base are responsible for:
- Compression adjustment,
- Matrix management,
- HDMI management.
Bluetooth & Technology
The Sony WH-600 provides an appealing battery life of up to 17 hours, so you can enjoy your movies with confidence. When you hang up the headphones to the base, the charging process starts automatically. So you’ll rarely be surprised when the battery runs out.
They also appreciate that they can hear wirelessly and without interference from headphones, which allows them to be up to 30 meters away from the receiver. It’s nice when I have to go chase something from the other side and come back.
Sound Quality
When it comes to sound quality, Sony headphones are nice, especially when you’re not listening to music. In fact, these headphones aren’t just for listening to music. In our tests, we didn’t like the sound that came out of them, and we consider that if you need headphones to listen to music, you should switch to other headphones that are better suited for this task.
The Sony WH-L600 provides five sound modes: neutral, movie, game, sport, and voice. By adding Sony Surround Sound, you can take full advantage of the immersive modes offered by the headphones, making you feel like you’re in a movie theater or soccer stadium. You can immerse yourself in the essence of the show, including every detail of the sound.
If you can choose the listening mode based on what you’re watching on your TV, the sound experience will be worth it, and you’ll soon discover that Sony has made this possible with these TV headphones.
Conclusion
In essence, it is safe to say that the WH-L600 model developed by Sony provides the public with excellent sound quality. With these Sony headphones, you don’t need to have a home cinema system in your living room to feel like you’re at the cinema. Whether it’s a sport, news, or soccer, the experience with the WH-L600 will be unforgettable. As a reminder, these headphones are not designed to listen to music but watch movies without disturbing neighbors and family members. For music, you’re better off with a pair of Sennheiser HD 660 S or Beyerdynamic DT-990 Pro and Music Fidelity MX-DAC desktop amplifier.
Thank you for the review. I have a question my Sony UBP-X700 bluray player, my Optoma HD144x projector, and Sony WH-L600 headphones, how can I best connect them to get them to work? Thank you
I have no experience with projectors, but connecting the Sony UBP-X700 with the Sony WH-L600 TV headset should be no different than connecting a soundbar or speaker system. The easiest way to connect the two devices, the audio player and the TV headset base station, is to use a coaxial/optical converter and two cables. For the Optoma projector, you can connect your Sony UBP-X700 player to it with an HDMI cable (HDMI out to HDMI in).
