Inside the package, you will find the Cowin E7 ANC headphones, a micro USB charging cable, a 3.5mm audio cable, a protective case, and a user manual. Cowin E7 can work both as wireless headphones, connecting to devices via Bluetooth, and wired, thanks to a cable with a jack – which is not the norm at all. The protective case of Cowin E7 is a leather pouch that the manufacturer thought will protect the device against scratches.

The Cowin E7 headset has a decent design but is made with inexpensive materials. The quality of the materials for the manufacture of Cowin E7 is relatively economical. The headband reinforcement is metal, but the plastic used for the headphones is of inferior quality. It won’t break on the first drop, but extreme care is recommended if you want it to last.

The headset is not uncomfortable, but for some people, it can be a bit tight. The synthetic leather used for the headband and earpads is soft, reducing the adjustment effect. The headphones are well-padded and comfortable, but the adjustable headband doesn’t stretch far enough to accommodate all head sizes. The earcups can swivel 90 degrees, which helps with transport and storage, but cannot fold inward to become more compact. The sliders at each end of the headband allow for adjustment; the mechanism is quite stiff and difficult to adjust but stays securely in place when adjusted.

Once on your head, the headphones are stable. They will not move during listening sessions. Obviously, it is not a headset suitable for sports due to its volume and size; moreover, it moves during vigorous activities, so it won’t be ideal for running or training.

The right earcup is equipped with volume control and play/pause keys. It is necessary to apply prolonged, continuous pressure to increase or decrease the volume. To our surprise, the audio management isn’t the most intuitive; some users were confused that the volume controls didn’t work, simply because they repeatedly pressed the button instead of holding it down. On the bottom, there is a three-way button “off,” “on,” and “ANC,” a 3.5mm audio jack, and a port with a microphone.

The headphone only houses a USB port on the left earcup to connect the micro USB charging cable to charge the headset.

Cowin E7 ANC has a good wireless connection and an acceptable battery life. The connection is a bit slow, but you will easily pair your mobile devices since the synchronization process is not complicated to perform. Unlike Cowin E8, the headset supports NFC (a short-range wireless transmission technology, allowing information to be exchanged between two devices), making pairing with mobile phones even easier.

The battery is plentiful. Cowin E7 features a 750 mAh autonomy that provides an immense battery life but takes a while to charge. For 10 minutes of charging, you can expect 45 minutes of listening time. To fully charge it, you need to let it charge for 3 to 5 hours for approximately 30 hours of playtime.

Cowin E7 headset’s wireless system works equally well indoors and outdoors, even when the Bluetooth source is obstructed. However, note that Cowin E7 isn’t a smart headset in the sense that it doesn’t turn off automatically to save battery life.

Cowin E7 headphones are noise-canceling headphones that effectively cancel ambient noise. You can use them while traveling without being disturbed by the noise around you, especially if you are listening to music. But if you listen to music at a loud enough volume, the noise will be audible to the people around you as E7 doesn’t seal the sounds too good. It helps a lot in the office, as the noise-canceling microphones eliminate the air conditioners’ unpleasant sounds and loud fans without diminishing your coworkers’ voices. One might see this as a flaw, but can also be a feature of the active noise cancellation.

The sound tends to lack clarity and detail. The lower end of the spectrum has a thunderous, confident bass reproduced naturally. In Bluetooth, no muttering or delays occur. There is a good performance on the bass, but sometimes it is too pronounced, which negatively affects the vocals’ clarity and intensity, the same for the high frequencies.

The headphones’ frequency response depends on the headphones’ fit on your head, which is an integral part of achieving good audio reproduction. In this regard, the Cowin E7 has a good frequency response consistency. Thanks to the ear pads, even wearers who wear glasses should achieve a consistent and adequate response.

The sound is quite good, and you can distinguish nuances that you do not appreciate with low-end earphones. In short: if you want them to watch series, watch TV, listen to music at the user level, they work quite well. The headphones exceeded our expectations as we were quite afraid of the sound quality of a Chinese product. The overall sound performance is not spectacular but slightly above average.

Our noise-canceling wireless headset Cowin E7 has some potential and features a few qualities despite its low price – it’s a comfortable, affordable headset with a good wireless connection. The headphones sufficiently block ambient noise in noisy environments via ANC technology. It has good bass but lacks overall performance in the high-range and mid-range, making the audio quality a bit muffled. It is a product with excellent value for money. The Bluetooth mode works perfectly, can connect to a smartphone with ease, and with the help of an adapter, you can even pair them to television.

That being said, Cowin E7 is a noise-canceling Bluetooth headset with a good wireless connection but really average sound quality and noise reduction capability. The sound tends to sound a bit muffled, though, its users can always be pleased by its fairly comfortable design and good battery life. I don’t think you could ask for more for the price these wireless NC headphones have.
